Iridology

Iridology is the term used to describe a non-invasive diagnostic tool whereby the Iris is studied under magnification using a microscope. Through careful observation of Iris signs, pigments and structure by the practitioner the client can learn about their constitutional strengths and weaknesses, pathways to disease, psychological influences on health and specific imbalances or needs within the body.

One of the main advantages of Iridology is the information gained about the constitution. The constitution describes the disposition of the individual's whole person from the basis of genetic inheritance.

In Iridology there are three basic constitutional types - when we have ascertained the main type we will then look closer to determine disposition. All dispositions are genetically determined. Disposition indicates the effect that structural weakness could have in pre-disposing the body to disease evolution. These conditions can be activated or remain latent. An individual can acieve substantial health benefits even from knowing and acting upon this knowledge - just where their strengths and weaknesses lie. Iridology can give this information quickly and of course painlessly and without intrusion.

In addition to the constitutional information an iridology examination will also attempt to highlight specific Diathesis - the physiological effects in organs or organ systems that produce pathology. Thorough microscope examination of both the left and the right irides gives areas of priority. Analysis of markings, pigmentations and pupilliary dynamics can be used to form a diagnosis and with this specific information a specific healing programme can be developed

Throughout an Iridology examination the client will be asked some questions about their health and well being to help the Iridologist decide which body system to treat first. Clients can receive more than one Iridology session and often best results are obtained when both practitioner and patient agree to give a substantial amount of time to the healing process. A follow-up consultation will usually take place about six weeks after the first.
